In fact you should be able to get them to return to their normal size just through wearing very small and light studs and using vitamin E or jojoba oil. Massage the oil into the ear when you shower and you should see your ear starting to shrink. It may take a while but it will work if you have patience.

Best of luck.
Hannah.

The problem you’re experiencing here is the scar tissue preventing your ear from healing up anymore. The best thing you can do is use the oils I suggested in the post to help soften up any hardened scar tissue. You may want to go to a dermatologist or even just a body piercer and ask their opinion.

I hope you manage to heal your ears up in time.

If the tapers are light, they shouldn’t cause any issues. Although I would recommend you still find yourself some plugs. What are your tapers made from? If they are acrylic you should switch them up for some steel or titanium plugs.

Hope this helps.
Hannah.

I had my lobes pierced when I was 11, I’m now 17 and they’ve turned into small slits as opposed to little holes, and I want to get them back to how they should be without surgery, if I can… thank you!

This helped a lot, but I also read you shouldn’t keep wearing tapers, but they are light, would it still cause my ears damage? Or should I find plugs? They’ve been like this for almost 4 months now

Try using jojoba or vitamin E oil. Sometimes the skin needs to be slightly damaged again to produce collogen for healing.

I was wondering though, I did this when I took my plugs out years ago (over 5) and they still seem to be about a 14 ish gague. Should I re-gague it to one size up to create a tear then go back down sizes from there? Right now they’re fully healed up but I can’t wear studs because they almost go through the hole 🙁
